Zhu Fu was an innkeeper in Yishui County who had been taught martial arts by Li Yun (plate 39), the chief constable in Yishui County. Zhu Fu’s brother, Zhu Gui (plate 12), was also an innkeeper, but used his inn as a lookout for the bandits at Liangshan Marsh. 

Zhu Fu joined Liangshan after aiding in the escape of Li Kui (see plate 39 for story details).

Plates 39 and 40 form a diptych of Li Yun sparring with Zhu Fu.
